Meet our team!

Elena Ezhkova, PhD

Lab Head

Elena carried out her PhD studies on epigenetics and chromatin in Dr. Bill Tansey’s lab at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (NY, USA). For her postdoctoral studies, she moved to Dr. Elaine Fuchs’s lab at the Rockefeller University (NY, USA), where she learned the skin stem cell system. At Mount Sinai, Dr. Ezhkova's lab is part of the Black Family Stem Cell Institute and the Department of Developmental and Regenerative Biology.

Graduate Student

Venu is a PhD Student in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at Mount Sinai, he joined the lab in January of 2018. He pursued his BA  in New York University. These days, he is determined to discover critical events of the opening and closing of chromatin during the development of the mouse epidermis during embryogenesis, from its single-layer construction to its heterogeneous nature at birth and through adulthood, by utilizing a variety of epigenetic molecular biology techniques. Outside the lab, he is interested in Angloculture and keeping his bicycle fast outside.

Madison Weber
